Strawberry Brownies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Brownie Base

01 - 1 box strawberry cake mix (Pillsbury recommended)
02 - 2 large eggs
03 - 80 ml (⅓ cup) vegetable or canola oil
04 - 5 ml (1 teaspoon) vanilla extract

→ Strawberry Glaze

05 - 90g (¾ cup) powdered sugar
06 - 40g (2 tablespoons) strawberry preserves (Bonne Maman recommended)
07 - 22ml (1½ tablespoons) milk
08 - 15g (1 tablespoon) cream cheese (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Spray an 8x8 inch (20x20 cm) pan with nonstick spray or line with foil or parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, thoroughly combine strawberry cake mix, eggs, oil, and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
03 - Press the mixture into the prepared pan, spreading evenly. Bake for 18-22 minutes, until just set but not overcooked. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
04 - In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, strawberry preserves, cream cheese (if using), and milk until smooth and spreadable.
05 - Spread the glaze evenly over the completely cooled strawberry brownies. Allow glaze to set before cutting into squares.

# Notes:

01 - Glass baking dishes may require slightly different baking times than metal pans.
02 - For clean-cut brownies, refrigerate for 30 minutes after glazing before slicing.
