# Ingredients:

01 - 2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
02 - 3 to 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus extra for serving
03 - 2 to 3 tablespoons honey, adjusted to taste
04 - 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt, adjusted to taste

05 - Pinch ground cinnamon or nutmeg

# Steps:

01 - Place sweet potato chunks in a large pot and cover with water. Add a generous pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, until fork-tender.
02 - Drain the sweet potatoes thoroughly, then return them to the pot or transfer to a mixing bowl.
03 - Add butter, honey, salt, and optional cinnamon or nutmeg. Mash until completely smooth and creamy.
04 - Taste and adjust seasoning and sweetness as desired. Serve warm, topped with an additional pat of butter if preferred.
