# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 16 ounces frozen sweet peas, thawed or canned peas, drained
02 - 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
03 - 4 to 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled, or 1 cup cooked ham, chopped (optional)
04 - 1/2 cup chopped green onions or regular onions
05 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or preferred cheese

→ Seasonings

06 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
08 - 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
09 - 1/2 teaspoon celery seeds or 1/2 cup chopped celery
10 - Pinch of cayenne pepper

→ Dressing

11 - 1/2 cup mayonnaise
12 - 1/2 cup sour cream

# Steps:

01 - Place sweet peas, chopped eggs, bacon or ham if using, green onions, and shredded cheddar cheese in a large mixing bowl.
02 - Sprinkle black pepper, salt, garlic powder, celery seeds or chopped celery, and cayenne pepper evenly over the mixture. Stir gently to distribute the seasonings throughout.
03 - In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise and sour cream until completely smooth. Pour this mixture over the pea salad and mix gently to ensure all components are thoroughly coated.
04 - Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.

# Notes:

01 - For optimal texture, stir gently to avoid breaking the peas. Allowing the salad to chill enhances the blend of flavors.
