Cheesy Texas Toast Garlic (Print Version)

Golden toast loaded with garlic butter and melty mozzarella, finished with a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.

# Ingredients:

→ Main

01 - 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
02 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
03 - Salt, to taste
04 - Black pepper, to taste
05 - 8 slices thick-cut Texas toast bread
06 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
07 - Italian seasoning, to taste

# Steps:

01 - Set broiler to high and position the oven rack 4 to 6 inches from the heat element.
02 - In a small bowl, thoroughly mix the softened unsalted butter with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
03 - Generously brush both sides of each slice of Texas toast bread with the garlic butter mixture. Arrange bread in a single layer on a baking sheet.
04 - Broil for about 1 minute per side or until bread is lightly golden, monitoring carefully to prevent burning.
05 - Remove baking sheet from oven. Evenly distribute shredded mozzarella cheese over each slice and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
06 - Return the baking sheet to the broiler and broil for 1 to 2 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbling, and lightly browned.
07 - Allow bread to cool for 1–2 minutes. Serve warm as a side or snack.

# Notes:

01 - Monitor the bread closely under the broiler, as it can brown rapidly. The toast is best served immediately for optimal texture.
