Vanilla French Beignets (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 tablespoon baking powder
03 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
04 - 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
05 - 1 large egg
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
07 - 1/2 cup whole milk
08 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
09 - Vegetable oil for frying
10 - Powdered sugar for dusting

# Instructions:

01 - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
02 - In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, vanilla extract, milk, and melted butter together until smooth.
03 - Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until the dough comes together. The dough should be soft but not too sticky.
04 - In a deep skillet or saucepan, heat oil to 175°C (350°F). Use enough oil to submerge the beignets halfway.
05 - Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and gently drop them into the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and puffed.
06 - Remove the beignets from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Dust generously with powdered sugar while still warm.
07 - Serve immediately with coffee or hot chocolate for the authentic experience.

# Notes:

01 - For best results, maintain oil temperature between 170-180°C throughout frying.
02 - Traditional French beignets are lighter and fluffier than their New Orleans counterparts.
