Texas Roadhouse Smothered Chicken (Print Version)

Juicy chicken, creamy garlic sauce, and tangy Jack cheese create a savory, comforting main that’s always crowd-pleasing.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 3 to 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
02 - 1 cup shredded Jack cheese

→ Sauce and Seasonings

03 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
04 - 2 to 3 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
06 - 0.5 cup sour cream
07 - Salt, to taste
08 - Black pepper, to taste

→ Garnish

09 - Chopped green onions
10 - Paprika

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F. Rub olive oil over chicken breasts and season both sides evenly with salt and black pepper.
02 - Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken breasts until golden brown on each side, about 5 minutes per side.
03 - Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds until aromatic. Deglaze the skillet by pouring in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
04 - Reduce heat to medium. Stir in sour cream, blending until the sauce is smooth and homogenous. Simmer gently for 5 minutes.
05 - Arrange chicken breasts in a baking dish. Spoon the prepared sauce evenly over each piece and top each with shredded Jack cheese. Transfer to the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbling.
06 - Remove the baking dish from the oven. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and paprika before serving hot.

# Notes:

01 - For optimum juiciness, allow chicken breasts to rest briefly before slicing. Select freshly shredded Jack cheese for superior melt and flavor.
