Tater Tot Mini Cheeseburger (Print Version)

Bite-sized cheeseburgers layered with crispy tots, melted cheddar, bacon, and tangy pickles.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 1 bag (30 ounces) frozen tater tots or crispy crowns
02 - 1 pound ground beef (80/20 preferred, lean beef acceptable)
03 - 1/2 teaspoon table salt
04 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
05 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
06 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
07 - 1 bag (2.5 ounces) bacon bits or 1/4 cup cooked finely chopped bacon
08 - 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
09 - 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
10 - 8 to 10 slices cheddar cheese, each cut into 6 squares
11 - Caramelized onion jam or preferred burger sauce
12 - Dill pickle chips or sliced pickles

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven and cook tater tots or crispy crowns according to package instructions, typically 18 to 20 minutes at 425°F. Once golden and crisp, remove and set aside. Reduce oven temperature to 400°F and place two half sheet pans or one large sheet pan in the oven to preheat for 10 minutes.
02 - In a mixing bowl, gently combine ground beef, table salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, bacon bits, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, and Worcestershire sauce. Avoid over-mixing to maintain a tender patty texture.
03 - Scoop the ground beef mixture by the teaspoon and shape into small, flat patties slightly larger than the tater tots. Use even portions to ensure consistent cooking; patties will shrink during baking.
04 - Slice cheddar cheese into mini squares, cutting each slice into 6 equal portions for topping the burgers.
05 - Place burger patties on the preheated baking sheet. Bake at 400°F for 3 to 4 minutes. Flip each patty, top with a cheddar cheese square, and continue baking until cheese is just melted, approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
06 - Spread caramelized onion jam or preferred sauce onto one tater tot. Layer with a burger patty, top with a pickle chip, then add another tater tot. Secure each assembled stack with a toothpick for serving.

# Notes:

01 - Avoid over-mixing the ground beef to keep the patties tender.
