Ground beef, taco seasoning, hashbrowns, and cheese yield a irresistible, family-friendly comfort bake.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 pound ground beef
02 - 1 medium onion, finely diced
03 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
04 - 1 ounce taco seasoning mix
05 - 30 ounces frozen shredded hashbrowns
06 - 10.5 ounces canned cheddar cheese soup
07 - 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend

→ Optional Toppings

08 - Sour cream
09 - Salsa
10 - Fresh cilantro, chopped
11 - Pico de gallo
12 - Guacamole

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
02 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion, breaking beef into crumbles. Continue until beef is no longer pink and onions are tender.
03 - Add minced garlic and taco seasoning to the skillet. Stir constantly until the mixture is fragrant and evenly coated, about 1 minute.
04 - In a large bowl or directly in the skillet, mix the cooked beef mixture with frozen hashbrowns, cheddar cheese soup, and 1½ cups shredded Mexican cheese blend until blended.
05 - Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish in an even layer. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup cheese evenly over the top.
06 - Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and golden brown on top.
07 - Allow to cool briefly, then serve with optional toppings such as sour cream, salsa, cilantro, pico de gallo, or guacamole.

# Notes:

01 - For a milder flavor, use a mild taco seasoning blend. Casserole can be assembled ahead and refrigerated, then baked when ready to serve.
