Steak with Cajun Shrimp Sauce (Print Version)

Tender steak paired with a creamy Cajun shrimp sauce and hints of Dijon, parmesan, and fresh parsley.

# Ingredients:

→ Steak and Shrimp

01 - 1 pound New York strip steak
02 - 24 large shrimp, raw, peeled and deveined

→ Sauce

03 - 1 cup heavy cream
04 - 1/4 cup chicken broth
05 - 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
06 - 3 tablespoons butter, divided
07 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice
08 - 1 tablespoon flat-leaf parsley, chopped
09 - 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
10 - 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
11 - 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

# Steps:

01 - Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear New York strip steaks for several minutes per side until lightly browned and cooked to preferred doneness. Remove steaks from skillet and allow to rest.
02 - Reduce heat to medium and add 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 1 to 2 minutes per side. Transfer shrimp to a plate and set aside.
03 - Melt remaining 1 tablespoon butter in the same pan. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in chicken broth, heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and Cajun seasoning. Stir thoroughly and bring to a boil. Simmer for 1 minute to thicken slightly.
04 - Remove skillet from heat. Stir in grated parmesan cheese until fully melted. Add lemon juice, chopped parsley, and cooked shrimp. Mix to combine. Spoon shrimp and Cajun sauce generously over the seared steaks.

# Notes:

01 - Allow steaks to rest after searing to retain moisture and tenderness.
