04 - 4 cups cooked white rice
05 - 2 cups chicken broth (prepared from Better Than Bouillon or similar concentrate)

→ Vegetables

06 - 1 1⁄2 cups mixed onions and bell peppers, chopped

→ Oils and Roux

07 - 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
08 - 1⁄4 cup all-purpose flour

→ Seasonings and Spices

09 - 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning
10 - 1 tablespoon dried oregano
11 - 3 teaspoons minced garlic
12 - 1 teaspoon dried thyme
13 - 1 tablespoon garlic powder
14 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
15 - 1 teaspoon chili powder
16 - 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper, plus more to taste
17 - 1⁄2 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
18 - Pinch cayenne pepper

# Instructions:

01 - Combine the shrimp with seafood seasoning, ensuring even coverage.
02 - Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until they curl and are opaque. Remove shrimp from pan and set aside.
03 - Add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil to the skillet. Add ground beef and pork sausage; cook, breaking up the meat, until slightly browned.
04 - Stir in chopped onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic. Sauté with meat until fully browned and vegetables are softened.
05 - Mix oregano, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper into the skillet. Stir to incorporate.
06 - Evenly sprinkle flour over the mixture. Stir thoroughly, then gradually add chicken broth. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
07 - Fold in the cooked white rice. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
08 - Return shrimp to the skillet, mixing until well combined. Cook briefly to rewarm all ingredients thoroughly.
09 - Portion dirty rice onto serving plates and enjoy hot.

# Notes:

01 - For bold flavor, use a blend of sweet and hot sausage. Adjust heat to taste by varying the amount of cayenne pepper.
