Crispy, golden fritters packed with honeycrisp apples, dipped in vanilla glaze and finished with flaked sea salt.

# Ingredients:

→ Fritter Batter

01 - 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
03 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
04 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
05 - 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
06 - Pinch of freshly ground nutmeg
07 - 2/3 cup milk
08 - 2 eggs, lightly beaten
09 - 1 tablespoon butter, melted
10 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
11 - 3 cups peeled and chopped Honeycrisp apples
12 - Vegetable or canola oil for frying

→ Glaze

13 - 2 cups powdered sugar
14 - 1/4 cup milk
15 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
16 - Flaked sea salt for sprinkling

# Instructions:

01 - Heat a few inches of oil in a large saucepan over medium-low heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Line a plate with paper towels.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, butter and vanilla. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry until just combined. Fold the chopped apples into the batter.
03 - Once the oil is hot, drop 1/4 cup portions of batter into the oil, frying only 1 or 2 at a time. Fry until golden on both sides, about 3 to 4 minutes, flipping once or twice during cooking. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Repeat with remaining batter.
04 - Whisk the powdered sugar, vanilla and milk together until combined and smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add more milk 1 teaspoon at a time until it reaches dipping consistency.
05 - Once the fritters are slightly cooled, dip them in the glaze. Place on parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with flaked sea salt. Serve while still warm.

# Notes:

01 - These fritters are best served warm on the day they're made.
02 - The sea salt adds a delightful contrast to the sweet glaze.
