Roasted Garlic White Chicken Pizza (Print Version)

Buttery roast garlic sauce, savory chicken and red onion on crisp, cheesy pizza with fresh herbs.

# Ingredients:

→ Dough and Base

01 - 1 ball pizza dough, store-bought or homemade

→ Sauce

02 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
03 - 1 whole head roasted garlic, about 8 to 10 cloves
04 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
05 - 1 cup skim milk
06 - 1/2 cup half and half
07 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
08 - 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

→ Toppings

09 - 1 1/2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
10 - 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
11 - 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
12 - 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
13 - 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
14 - 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or lightly grease and sprinkle with cornmeal for a crisp base.
02 - Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add roasted garlic cloves and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Incorporate flour and whisk for 1 minute to form a blond roux.
03 - Gradually pour in skim milk and half and half, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Season with black pepper. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens, approximately 3 minutes. Remove from heat and blend in grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.
04 - Roll out pizza dough into a 12-inch round. Place onto the prepared baking sheet for an even base.
05 - Evenly spread the warm white garlic sauce over the dough. Distribute shredded chicken breast, finely diced red onion, and top generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.
06 - Transfer to the oven and bake for 17 minutes or until the crust turns golden and cheese bubbles and lightly browns.
07 - Remove from oven. Sprinkle pizza with fresh thyme leaves, dried oregano, and chopped parsley. Slice and serve hot.

# Notes:

01 - Roasting the garlic before adding it to the sauce imparts a mellow, sweet flavor and creamy texture to the pizza.
