Texas Roadhouse Smothered Chicken (Print Version)

Golden chicken with savory cheese sauce, finished with green onions and paprika for bold flavor.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 3 to 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
02 - 1 cup shredded Jack cheese

→ Sauce and Seasonings

03 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
04 - 2 to 3 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
06 - 1/2 cup sour cream
07 - Salt, to taste
08 - Black pepper, to taste

→ Garnish

09 - Chopped green onions
10 - Paprika

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F. Coat the chicken breasts with olive oil, seasoning generously on both sides with salt and black pepper.
02 - Heat a skillet over medium-high. Sear the chicken breasts until golden on each side, about 5 minutes per side.
03 - Add the minced garlic to the pan and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in chicken broth, scraping the pan to release browned bits.
04 - Reduce heat to medium, incorporate sour cream into the pan and stir until smooth. Let sauce simmer gently for 5 minutes.
05 - Arrange the seared chicken breasts in a baking dish, pour sauce evenly over the chicken, and top each with shredded Jack cheese. Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and edges are bubbling.
06 - Remove from oven. Garnish with chopped green onions and dust with paprika. Serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - Allow chicken to rest briefly before serving to lock in juices.
