Hearty cheeseburger flavors meet savory pie in this classic comfort dish, perfect for family meals.

# Ingredients:

→ Base Filling

01 - 1 large onion, finely chopped (approximately 1 cup)
02 - 450 grams ground beef
03 - 0.5 teaspoon salt
04 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
05 - Garlic powder, to taste (optional)

→ Topping and Batter

06 - 120 grams grated Cheddar cheese (about 1 cup)
07 - 65 grams Bisquick baking mix or all-purpose flour (about 0.5 cup)
08 - 240 millilitres whole milk (1 cup)
09 - 2 large eggs

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 200°C. Lightly grease a 23 cm glass pie dish with vegetable oil.
02 - In a large skillet over medium heat, warm a small amount of oil. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.
03 - Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it into small pieces. Cook until fully browned, approximately 10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
04 - Season the cooked beef mixture with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and optional garlic powder. Stir to ensure even distribution of seasoning.
05 - Evenly spread the beef and onion mixture into the prepared pie dish. Sprinkle grated Cheddar cheese uniformly over the meat.
06 - In a mixing bowl, whisk together Bisquick mix (or all-purpose flour), whole milk, and eggs until the batter is smooth. Pour this mixture evenly over the beef and cheese layers.
07 - Transfer the dish to the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the centre comes out clean.
08 - Allow to cool briefly before slicing. Serve warm.

# Notes:

01 - Allowing the pie to rest for a few minutes before slicing helps maintain clean portions.
