Philly Steak Cheese Fries (Print Version)

Savor steak, melty cheese, peppers, and crispy fries in a hearty, shareable comfort dish.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 1 pound ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
02 - 1 teaspoon garlic salt
03 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
04 - 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
05 - 1 onion, thinly sliced
06 - 8 to 10 slices white American cheese
07 - 20 ounces frozen waffle-cut fries
08 - 1 tablespoon olive oil

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven as indicated on the frozen fries packaging. Arrange the waffle fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for approximately 20 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
02 - While fries bake, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the green bell pepper and onion and sauté for 5 to 7 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized. Transfer the vegetables to a separate dish and set aside.
03 - In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced steak. Season evenly with garlic salt and ground black pepper. Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is just browned and cooked through. Avoid overcooking.
04 - Once the fries are crisp, remove the baking sheet from the oven. Top the fries evenly with the cooked steak and sautéed vegetables.
05 - Layer the slices of white American cheese generously over the assembled fries, steak, and vegetables. Return the baking sheet to the oven for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
06 - Remove the fries from the oven, let rest for one minute, then serve hot directly from the pan or transfer to a platter.

# Notes:

01 - For optimal results, select steak that is well-marbled and slice it against the grain for maximum tenderness.
