Golden chaffles layered with cheese create a warm, savory sandwich perfect for low carb lifestyles.

# Ingredients:

→ Chaffle Batter

01 - 1 large egg
02 - 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
03 - 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

→ Sandwich Assembly

04 - 2 slices American cheese
05 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

# Steps:

01 - Preheat a mini waffle maker according to manufacturer's instructions.
02 - In a small bowl, whisk together egg, garlic powder, and shredded cheddar cheese until fully combined.
03 - Pour half the batter into the preheated waffle maker. Close and cook for about 4 minutes until golden brown and set. Remove and repeat with the remaining batter.
04 - Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add butter and allow to melt completely, coating the base of the pan.
05 - Place one chaffle in the pan. Layer with American cheese slices, then top with the second chaffle to form a sandwich.
06 - Cook the sandwich for 1 minute on the first side until beginning to brown. Carefully flip and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes until cheese is melted and both sides are crisp.
07 - Remove the grilled chaffle sandwich from the pan and serve immediately while hot.

# Notes:

01 - For optimal results, use freshly shredded cheddar cheese, as pre-shredded varieties may contain anti-caking agents affecting texture.
