02 - 1 cup bread crumbs
03 - 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
04 - 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
05 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
06 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
07 - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

→ Binding

08 - 2 large eggs
09 - 1/4 cup whole milk

→ Topping

10 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
11 - 2 cloves garlic, minced

→ Cooking Oils

12 - 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus extra for greasing

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and brush a baking dish with olive oil.
02 - Combine bread crumbs, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish.
03 - Whisk together eggs and milk in a separate shallow dish until well combined.
04 - Place all-purpose flour in a third shallow dish for dredging.
05 - Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shake off any excess, dip into the egg mixture, and coat thoroughly with bread crumb mixture.
06 - Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes per side until golden.
07 - Arrange browned chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish.
08 - Stir together remaining 1/2 cup grated Parmesan, mozzarella cheese, and minced garlic. Distribute evenly over the chicken.
09 - Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the chicken reads 165°F (74°C), and cheese is melted and bubbly.
10 - Remove chicken from oven and serve hot.

# Notes:

01 - For extra flavor, allow chicken to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Lightly broil at the end for a crisp cheese topping if desired.
