Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C). Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 28 minutes, turning the tots once halfway through for even crispness.

Remove baked tater tots from the oven and allow to cool briefly until safe to handle. Thread 4 to 6 tater tots onto each wooden or metal skewer.

Place assembled tater tot skewers on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle evenly with grated cheddar cheese, beef bacon bits, and half of the chopped green onions.

Return the sheet to the oven and bake the skewers for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese has fully melted and is bubbling.

Remove from the oven, top with the remaining green onions, and serve immediately with sour cream on the side.
