# Ingredients:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
03 - 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

→ Wet Ingredients

04 - 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
05 - 1 cup granulated sugar
06 - 1 large egg
07 - Zest of 2 lemons
08 - 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
09 - 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil
10 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
02 - In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and sea salt until evenly blended.
03 - In a large bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy.
04 - Beat in the egg, lemon zest, lemon juice, chopped basil, and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
05 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until a soft, cohesive dough forms.
06 - Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing each portion about 2 inches apart. Gently flatten each mound slightly.
07 - Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
08 - Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

# Notes:

01 - Chilling the dough for 20 minutes can enhance flavor and prevent excessive spreading during baking.
