Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease an 8½ x 4½ inch loaf pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and honey until combined. Add eggs, mashed banana, milk, and vanilla extract, whisking until well incorporated.

In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix just until combined, being careful not to overmix.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. If desired, add toppings such as nuts, chocolate chips, or sliced banana (cut side up) on top of the batter.

Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
