Bring the grill to 425°F.

Combine chicken wings, salt, and ground black pepper in a large bowl. Toss thoroughly to coat each wing and set aside.

In a small saucepan, combine unsalted butter, chili crisp, honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Place over medium heat, stir until butter melts, bring to a gentle simmer, and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand.

Lightly oil grill grates with nonstick spray. Grill chicken wings over direct heat for 15 to 20 minutes, turning every 3–5 minutes, until grill marks form and an internal temperature of 165°F is reached. Arrange drummettes in the center and flat portions on the outer area for even cooking.

Transfer finished chicken wings to a large bowl. Toss thoroughly with the prepared honey chili crisp sauce until evenly coated.

Serve wings immediately while hot. Garnish with optional sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
