Homemade Yellow Mustard (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - ¾ cup yellow mustard powder
02 - 1 cup water
03 - ½ cup distilled white vinegar

→ Optional Seasonings

04 - 1 teaspoon turmeric (for color - use ¼ to ½ teaspoon for less pronounced yellow color)
05 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
06 - ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
07 - ¼ teaspoon cayenne powder (or paprika for milder heat)

# Instructions:

01 - Whisk together the mustard powder, water, vinegar and seasonings in a medium bowl until completely smooth with no lumps remaining.
02 - Pour mixture into a wide pan or pot and bring to a quick boil. Reduce the heat and simmer on medium-low for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until desired thickness is achieved.
03 - Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Transfer to a sealable container and refrigerate. The mustard will continue to thicken as it cools.

# Notes:

01 - The thickening time may vary depending on heat level and consistency preference.
02 - This homemade version mimics classic yellow mustard but allows for customization of heat and flavor.
