Hawaiian Roll French Toast Cubes (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ French Toast Base

01 - 1-2 packages (12-24 rolls) Sweet Hawaiian Rolls
02 - 3/4 cup half and half
03 - 2 large eggs
04 - 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
06 - 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
07 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter

→ Toppings

08 - Powdered sugar for dusting
09 - Maple syrup for serving
10 - Fresh berries (optional)
11 - Whipped cream (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - In a medium bowl, whisk together half and half, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until completely smooth and homogeneous.
02 - Heat a large pan over medium-low heat. Add a small amount of butter, being careful not to overheat the pan which would cause the butter to burn.
03 - Quickly dip each Hawaiian Roll in the custard mixture, coating all sides.
04 - Place the dipped rolls in the heated pan without crowding. Cook for about 2 minutes, then flip and continue cooking until all sides are golden brown and crispy.
05 - Remove cooked rolls from the pan and repeat the process with remaining rolls, adding more butter to the pan as needed.
06 - Arrange the French toast cubes on plates, dust with powdered sugar, and drizzle with maple syrup. If desired, serve with fresh berries and whipped cream.

# Notes:

01 - The soft, slightly sweet Hawaiian rolls create a uniquely flavorful French toast with a tender interior and crispy exterior.
02 - For a richer flavor, let the rolls soak in the custard mixture for 10-15 seconds per side.
