01 -
Set oven to 175°C and allow to fully preheat before assembling the casserole.
02 -
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and break apart with a spatula. Sauté until thoroughly browned with no remaining pink, approximately 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
03 -
In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked beef, drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until mixture is uniform and evenly coated.
04 -
Lightly grease a 23 x 33 cm baking dish. Distribute the beef and bean filling evenly in the dish, smoothing the surface. Top with shredded cheddar cheese in an even layer.
05 -
Place dish in preheated oven. Bake for 25 minutes or until cheese is melted and the casserole is bubbling. Remove from oven, scatter French fried onions over the top, and return to oven for 5–10 minutes until onions are crisp and golden.
06 -
Allow the casserole to rest for several minutes before portioning and serving to help it hold its shape.
