Ham Cheese Hash Brown Casserole (Print Version)

01 - 850 g frozen hash browns, thawed
02 - 300 g cooked ham, diced
03 - 200 g cheddar cheese, shredded
04 - 60 g mozzarella cheese, shredded
05 - 1 small onion, finely chopped
06 - 60 g unsalted butter, melted
07 - 300 g cream of chicken soup
08 - 120 g sour cream
09 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
10 - 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
11 - Salt, to taste
12 - Black pepper, to taste

13 - 30 g crushed cornflakes or breadcrumbs

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 175°C. Lightly grease a 33x23 cm baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
02 - In a large bowl, thoroughly mix thawed hash browns, diced ham, shredded cheddar, shredded mozzarella, chopped onion, melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until ingredients are evenly incorporated.
03 - Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.
04 - Sprinkle crushed cornflakes or breadcrumbs evenly over the surface if a crispy topping is desired.
05 - Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
06 - Remove foil and continue baking for 10–15 minutes, or until casserole is bubbling and the top is golden brown.
07 - Allow casserole to rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

01 - Thaw hash browns thoroughly to prevent excess moisture in the finished dish.
02 - For a more intense flavor, substitute smoked ham or add fresh herbs to taste.
