Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwiches (Print Version)

Crispy bread, melty mozzarella, pepperoni, and garlic butter deliver bold pizza flavors in every bite.

# Ingredients:

→ Garlic Butter

01 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
02 - 4 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
03 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
04 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1/4 teaspoon salt

→ Sandwich Assembly

06 - 8 thick slices sourdough or Italian bread
07 - 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
08 - 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
09 - 24 thin slices pepperoni

# Steps:

01 - In a small bowl, thoroughly blend the softened butter, grated parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.
02 - Spread a thin, even layer of marinara or pizza sauce on four bread slices. Top each with the shredded mozzarella and six slices of pepperoni. Complete each sandwich with a remaining bread slice.
03 - Spread the prepared garlic butter generously across the outer sides of all sandwiches.
04 - Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Grill sandwiches for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, turning once, until the bread is golden brown and crisp and the cheese has melted.
05 - Halve the hot grilled sandwiches and serve immediately, accompanied by extra warmed marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Using sturdy bread prevents the sandwiches from becoming soggy during grilling.
