02 - 1 tablespoon baking powder
03 - 1 teaspoon salt
04 - 1 cup whole milk
05 - 4 cups neutral oil for deep frying

→ For the tacos

06 - 1 pound taco-seasoned ground beef, pork, or chicken
07 - 2 cups cooked beans such as refried, pinto, kidney, or black beans
08 - 3 cups iceberg lettuce, shredded
09 - 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
10 - 1 large tomato, chopped

→ For serving

11 - Salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or taco sauce, optional

# Instructions:

01 - In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and stir with a wooden spoon until a dough forms, adding more flour if needed for handling.
02 - Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth, approximately 5 minutes. Allow dough to rest for 5 minutes.
03 - Divide dough into 4 to 6 portions. Roll each piece into a circle about 1/4 inch thick using a rolling pin.
04 - Heat oil in a deep, heavy skillet to 375°F, ensuring oil is at least 1 1/2 inches deep. Fry each dough circle until golden brown on both sides, turning once. Drain on paper towels.
05 - Top each fry bread with warm beans, seasoned meat, shredded lettuce, Cheddar cheese, and chopped tomato.
06 - Add optional toppings such as salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or taco sauce before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Dough consistency may vary with humidity; add flour gradually to achieve a dough that is soft but not sticky.
