03 - 1 can (10.5 ounces) French onion soup

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 425°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray or butter.
02 - In a skillet set over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and no longer pink, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain off excess fat.
03 - Transfer the cooked beef to the prepared baking dish, spreading it into an even layer. Sprinkle the uncooked rice evenly over the beef.
04 - Pour the French onion soup and beef consommé evenly over the beef and rice. Gently stir the mixture to distribute the liquids. Place the butter pats evenly across the top.
05 - Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
06 - Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 30 minutes, until the rice is tender and the surface is golden and slightly crisp.
07 - Allow the casserole to rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Garnish with chopped chives before serving, if desired. Serve warm.
