Dr Pepper Pork Ribs (Print Version)

Country-style pork ribs slow-cooked and glazed with Dr Pepper BBQ sauce for bold, sweet flavor.

# Ingredients:

→ Pork and Marinade

01 - 3–4 pounds country-style pork ribs
02 - 2 cans (12 ounces each) Dr Pepper soda, divided

→ BBQ Sauce Mixture

03 - 1 1/2 cups smoky and tangy BBQ sauce
04 - 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
05 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
06 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

# Steps:

01 - Arrange pork ribs in the slow cooker and pour in one can (12 ounces) of Dr Pepper. Cover and cook on low setting for 7 hours or on high setting for 4 hours, until the meat is tender and nearly falling apart.
02 - Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and set a wire rack on top.
03 - In a mixing bowl, blend the BBQ sauce, liquid smoke, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and the remaining can (12 ounces) of Dr Pepper. Whisk until the sauce is fully combined.
04 - Transfer the cooked ribs from the slow cooker onto the wire rack. Generously brush the ribs with the prepared BBQ sauce mixture. Bake for 15 minutes, then flip the ribs, brush again with sauce, and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes until sticky and caramelized.
05 - Present the ribs hot with any extra BBQ sauce on the side.

# Notes:

01 - For optimal caramelization, avoid overcrowding the ribs on the baking rack so heat circulates evenly.
