Crispy air-fried blooming onion with spiced coating and creamy dipping sauce, ready in just minutes.

# Ingredients:

→ For the onion

01 - 1 large sweet onion

→ Breading mixture

02 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
03 - 1 tablespoon paprika
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1 teaspoon salt
06 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

→ Coating

07 - 2 large eggs
08 - 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

→ Bloom sauce

09 - 1/2 cup mayonnaise
10 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
11 - 1 teaspoon horseradish
12 - 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

# Steps:

01 - Remove the top of the sweet onion and peel off the outer layer. Carefully slice vertically around the onion, ensuring the root remains intact to keep the layers together.
02 - Combine the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl and stir to distribute the seasonings evenly.
03 - Crack the eggs into a separate bowl and beat until well blended. Pour panko breadcrumbs into another shallow dish for easy breading.
04 - Dredge the prepared onion in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring coverage in all crevices. Dip the floured onion into the beaten eggs, and finally coat thoroughly with panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.
05 - Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Position the coated onion in the air fryer basket and mist evenly with cooking oil spray.
06 - Air fry the onion for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the exterior is deep golden brown and crisp.
07 - In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, and smoked paprika. Stir until smooth and set aside for serving.
08 - Carefully remove the hot blooming onion from the air fryer and place on a serving platter. Present with bloom sauce on the side.

# Notes:

01 - Cutting the onion with care ensures the classic blooming effect. Chill the prepared onion briefly before breading to help the coating adhere and enhance crispiness.
