                Place peeled and chopped potatoes into a large pot. Add water and a generous amount of salt. Bring to a boil and cook for 15–20 minutes, or until potatoes are fork tender.

                Drain the cooked potatoes thoroughly and return them to the warm pot to remove excess moisture.
              
              
              
                03 - 
                Add unsalted butter and whole milk to the potatoes. Mash carefully until the mixture is creamy and smooth.

                Sprinkle salt and freshly ground black pepper over the mash, tasting and adjusting as desired.
