                Add cranberries, sugar, and water to a medium saucepan and place over medium-high heat.

                Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally, cooking until most cranberries burst and the mixture thickens.

                Remove saucepan from heat and stir in orange zest. Allow cranberry sauce to cool to room temperature before transferring to a serving dish.
