# Ingredients:

→ Sponge Base

01 - 1 cup caster sugar
02 - 7 ounces unsalted butter, softened
03 - 4 large eggs
04 - 1 2/3 cups self-rising flour
05 - 2 tablespoons whole milk
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Decoration

07 - 3 tablespoons rainbow sprinkles

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 9 x 13-inch baking tray with parchment paper or grease it thoroughly.
02 - In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and caster sugar together until pale and fluffy.
03 - Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition to maintain a smooth mixture.
04 - Fold in the self-rising flour gently. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract to loosen the batter.
05 - Fold in most of the sprinkles, reserving a tablespoon for topping.
06 - Spread the batter evenly into the prepared tray. Scatter the remaining sprinkles across the surface.
07 - Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden and a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
08 - Allow the cake to cool completely in the tin before cutting into squares or bars for serving.
