Cinnamon Sugar Hawaiian Cheesecake Swirls (Print Version)

Soft Hawaiian rolls swirled with creamy cheesecake filling, cinnamon sugar, and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze.

# Ingredients:

→ Hawaiian Roll Base

01 - 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
02 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

→ Cheesecake Filling

03 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
04 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
06 - 1 egg yolk

→ Cinnamon Sugar Swirl

07 - 1/2 cup brown sugar
08 - 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
09 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

→ Vanilla Glaze

10 - 1 cup powdered sugar
11 - 2 to 3 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
12 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
02 - In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk. Mix until creamy and fully combined, scraping bowl sides as needed.
03 - In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir in melted butter until mixture resembles wet sand.
04 - Separate Hawaiian sweet rolls. Using a rolling pin or palm of your hand, gently flatten each roll into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
05 - Spread a generous tablespoon of cheesecake filling evenly over each flattened roll, leaving a small border. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture over the cheesecake layer. Starting from one end, roll each into a spiral and place seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
06 - Brush remaining melted butter over the tops of the assembled swirls.
07 - Bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes, or until swirls are puffed, lightly golden, and centers are set.
08 - While the swirls bake, whisk together powdered sugar, milk or cream, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust thickness with additional milk or cream as needed.
09 - Drizzle glaze over warm swirls. Allow to cool slightly before serving to set the filling for clean bites.

# Notes:

01 - Use fully softened cream cheese for the smoothest filling. Scrape down bowl sides thoroughly while mixing to avoid lumps.
