01 -
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 7x9-inch or 9x11-inch glass or ceramic baking dish.
02 -
Separate each biscuit in half horizontally. Arrange the bottom halves to form a single layer in the prepared dish. Set aside the top halves. Bake the base for 5 minutes to partially cook.
03 -
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until softened. Add ground beef and cook, breaking up the meat, until thoroughly browned. Drain excess fat.
04 -
Season cooked beef and onions with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Montreal Steak seasoning or preferred spices.
05 -
Spread the hot beef mixture evenly over the pre-baked biscuit base. Distribute shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef. Place reserved uncooked biscuit halves on top.
06 -
Return baking dish to oven. Bake an additional 20–25 minutes, or until biscuit tops are golden brown.
07 -
Allow to cool slightly. Serve warm, garnished or paired with desired cheeseburger condiments.
