Chocolate Ricotta Layer Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 package (15.25 ounces) chocolate cake mix
02 - Whatever the cake mix box says you need
03 - 2 pounds fresh ricotta cheese
04 - 4 large eggs at room temperature
05 - 3/4 cup white sugar
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
07 - 1 package (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate pudding
08 - 1 1/2 cups cold milk from the fridge
09 - 1 tub (8 ounces) whipped topping

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven on to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish thoroughly.
02 - Follow the box directions to make your chocolate cake batter. Pour it into your greased dish.
03 - In another bowl, combine and beat the ricotta, eggs, sugar, and vanilla until it's nice and smooth. Carefully drop this mixture over your cake batter.
04 - Stick it in the oven for 50-60 minutes. You'll know it's done when a toothpick comes out clean from the middle. Let it cool completely.
05 - Mix the pudding powder with cold milk until it gets thick. Then gently stir in the whipped topping.
06 - Smooth the pudding mix all over your cooled cake. Put it in the fridge for at least 4 hours but overnight works even better.
07 - Cut into pieces and dig into this amazing treat!
