Chicken Ham Cheese Sticks (Print Version)

Tender chicken, ham, and cheese sticks with a crunchy coating. Baked or fried for the perfect snack.

# Ingredients:

→ Filling

01 - 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or finely chopped
02 - 6 slices deli ham, chopped
03 - 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
04 - 1 large egg
05 - 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
06 - Salt, to taste
07 - Black pepper, to taste

→ Coating

08 - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
09 - 2 large eggs, beaten
10 - 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
11 - Spray oil or melted butter, for baking

# Steps:

01 - Combine the cooked chicken, chopped ham, shredded cheese, 1 egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly until all components are evenly incorporated.
02 - Portion the mixture and shape into stick or log forms, each about 3 to 4 inches in length. Arrange on a baking sheet and place in the freezer for 20 to 30 minutes to firm up.
03 - For each stick: dredge first in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally roll in panko breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
04 - Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange coated sticks on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Lightly spray or brush with oil or melted butter. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until golden and heated through.
05 - Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry sticks in batches for 2 to 3 minutes each, or until crisp and deeply golden. Drain on paper towels.

# Notes:

01 - Freezing the mixture before coating prevents the sticks from breaking apart during preparation and cooking.
