Preheat the oven to 200°C. Reserve 2 tablespoons of crumbled cooked bacon for garnish.

In a large mixing bowl, combine chopped or shredded cooked chicken, cooked crumbled bacon, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until uniformly incorporated.

Transfer the chicken mixture into a 33x23 cm (9x13 inch) baking dish in an even layer. Distribute frozen tater tots evenly over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the tater tots are crisp and golden.

Remove the dish from the oven. Sprinkle reserved crumbled bacon and sliced green onions over the casserole. Serve immediately while hot.
