Fresh Caprese Toast Recipe (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

β†’ Toast Base

01 - Rustic gluten-free sourdough bread, 1 thick slice (we love Bread Srsly or AWG Bakery)
02 - Fresh garlic clove, peeled with tip cut off
03 - Olive oil or avocado oil for toasting

β†’ Toppings

04 - Dairy-free fresh mozzarella, 2 oz (about 2 round slices) - Violife Cashew Milk Mozzarella recommended
05 - Baby spinach, about ΒΌ cup
06 - Medium tomatoes, 2 slices (preferably red Heirloom)
07 - Fresh basil leaves, 2 (1 for slicing, 1 for garnish)
08 - Balsamic glaze or reduced balsamic vinegar, 1-2 teaspoons

β†’ Seasonings

09 - Kosher salt or sea salt, to taste
10 - Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
11 - Red pepper chili oil or red pepper chili garlic flakes, to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Drizzle your bread slice with olive oil and toast it on a skillet over low-medium heat until it reaches a beautiful golden color on both sides.
02 - Take your peeled garlic clove and gently rub its cut end all over the warm toast to infuse it with flavor.
03 - Place your two slices of fresh dairy-free mozzarella evenly across the garlic-rubbed toast.
04 - Arrange a neat layer of baby spinach leaves over the mozzarella.
05 - Layer your tomato slices over the spinach, then season everything with a pinch of salt, fresh black pepper, and a touch of chili oil or flakes. Scatter the sliced basil and place the whole leaf for garnish, finishing with a lovely drizzle of balsamic glaze.
06 - Cut your masterpiece in half and enjoy while it's fresh and warm!
