Cajun Sausage Ravioli Pasta (Print Version)

Spicy sausage and cheese ravioli meet rich, creamy Cajun sauce for a savory Southern-inspired pasta dish.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 1 pound spicy Italian sausage
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
03 - 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
04 - 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
05 - 1/2 large red onion, diced
06 - 6 garlic cloves, minced
07 - 25 ounce package frozen cheese ravioli

→ Seasonings

08 - 1 tablespoon garlic seasoning blend
09 - 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
10 - 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

→ Creamy Sauce

11 - 1/4 cup beef or chicken broth
12 - 1 cup heavy cream
13 - 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
14 - 1/4 cup reserved pasta water

# Steps:

01 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add spicy Italian sausage, diced red and green bell peppers, diced red onion, and minced garlic. Cook, using a spoon to break up the sausage, until the meat is fully browned and the vegetables are tender, about 8 to 10 minutes.
02 - Stir garlic seasoning blend, Cajun seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes into the sausage and vegetable mixture. Continue cooking for 1 minute, allowing the spices to bloom and coat the ingredients evenly.
03 - Add broth, heavy cream, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet. Stir gently until the Parmesan is melted and a smooth, creamy sauce forms. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
04 - While the sauce simmers, cook cheese ravioli according to package instructions in a large pot of boiling water until al dente. Before draining, reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking water.
05 - Add drained ravioli and reserved pasta water to the skillet with the sauce. Gently toss the ravioli to coat thoroughly in the creamy Cajun mixture, taking care not to break the pasta.
06 - Simmer the pasta in the sauce over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens to preferred consistency. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve hot, optionally garnished with extra Parmesan.

# Notes:

01 - Reserve some pasta water to help emulsify and thicken the sauce for a silkier texture.
