Cajun Sausage Cabbage Alfredo (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 tbsp olive oil
02 - 14 ounces Andouille sausage, sliced
03 - 6 tbsp butter, divided (2 tbsp and 4 tbsp)
04 - 1/2 onion, finely chopped
05 - 5 cups cabbage, chopped

→ Sauce

06 - 3 tsp Cajun seasoning
07 - 1 cup heavy whipping cream
08 - 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated

# Instructions:

01 - Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced Andouille sausage and sear until well-browned on both sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.
02 - Reduce heat to medium and add 2 tablespoons of butter to the same skillet. Add the chopped onions and sauté until soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
03 - Add the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter to the skillet along with the chopped cabbage. Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning evenly over the mixture and stir to combine.
04 - Pour in the heavy whipping cream and stir to thoroughly incorporate with the cabbage mixture.
05 - Cover the skillet and allow to simmer until the cabbage begins to soften, approximately 5-7 minutes.
06 - Remove the lid and add the grated Parmesan cheese. Stir continuously until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens.
07 - Return the sausage to the skillet, folding it into the creamy cabbage mixture. Allow to heat through for 2 minutes before serving.

# Notes:

01 - This dish makes an excellent low-carb alternative to traditional pasta Alfredo while maintaining rich, creamy flavors.
02 - For extra heat, increase the Cajun seasoning or add red pepper flakes to taste.
