Buttery Shrimp Stuffed Croissants (Print Version)

Golden croissants filled with savory shrimp, cheese and chives. Rich, melty, and bursting with flavor.

# Ingredients:

→ Croissants

01 - 4 large croissants

→ Seafood Filling

02 - 8 ounces shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
03 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
04 - 1 garlic clove, minced
05 - 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
06 - 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
07 - 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
08 - 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or Gruyère cheese
09 - Salt, to taste
10 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

→ Assembly & Garnish

11 - 1 large egg
12 - Additional fresh chives or parsley, for garnish

# Steps:

01 - Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Add chopped shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until opaque and just pink, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
02 - In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded cheese, cooked shrimp with garlic, and chopped chives. Stir until fully incorporated and creamy.
03 - Using a sharp knife, carefully slice each croissant lengthwise, ensuring not to cut completely through. Open gently to form a pocket.
04 - Evenly distribute the shrimp filling among the croissants, stuffing generously into each pocket.
05 - Optional: Beat the egg and brush over the tops of the stuffed croissants for a glossy finish. Place on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8 to 10 minutes, until cheese is melted and croissants are golden.
06 - Remove from the oven and sprinkle with extra chives or parsley. Serve warm.

# Notes:

01 - Use pre-cooked shrimp to save time, but sautéing raw shrimp with garlic builds deeper flavor.
