Breakfast Smash Sandwich (Print Version)

Pancakes, bacon, sausage, and eggs layered for a hearty breakfast stack with maple syrup dip.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 8 prepared pancakes, homemade or store-bought
02 - 8 ounces pork breakfast sausage
03 - 4 large eggs
04 - 8 slices bacon
05 - 4 slices pepper jack cheese
06 - 1/4 cup maple syrup, for serving

# Steps:

01 - Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat. Cook pancakes according to recipe or package instructions until golden. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
02 - Divide sausage into 4 equal portions and roll into balls. Place each ball on the hot griddle and press flat with a spatula to form thin patties. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through. Place 1 slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty and allow to melt. Remove from heat and set aside.
03 - Arrange bacon slices in a cold skillet and cook over medium heat until crispy, about 6 to 8 minutes, turning as needed. Drain on paper towels.
04 - Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Crack eggs into the skillet and cook sunny-side up, seasoning with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Cook until whites are set and yolks remain runny, about 3 to 4 minutes.
05 - On a plate, layer 1 pancake, 1 sausage patty with melted cheese, 2 slices of bacon, and 1 fried egg. Top with a second pancake to form a sandwich.
06 - Serve sandwiches warm with maple syrup on the side for dipping.

# Notes:

01 - Warm the pancakes before assembling to ensure the cheese melts thoroughly and the sandwich holds together.
