Breakfast Grilled Cheese Sandwich (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 slices of sandwich bread
02 - 3 slices of American cheese
03 - 2-3 slices of cooked bacon
04 - 2 large eggs
05 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
06 - Salt and pepper to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Scramble the eggs until cooked and season with salt and pepper. Ensure bacon is cooked and drained prior to assembly.
02 - Place 1½ slices of American cheese on each slice of bread. Arrange cooked bacon on one bread slice, then top with scrambled eggs. Cover with the second bread slice to complete the sandwich.
03 - Spread approximately 1 tablespoon of butter on the top surface of the assembled sandwich.
04 - Heat the remaining tablespoon of butter in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted, place the sandwich in the skillet with the unbuttered side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom bread is browned and cheese begins to melt.
05 - Carefully flip the sandwich and press down with a spatula. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the second side is golden brown and cheese is completely melted.
06 - Remove from heat and serve immediately while hot and cheese is still melty.

# Notes:

01 - Bread: Use any sturdy sandwich bread variety - white, wheat, or other types will work well.
02 - Cheese: American cheese slices create the best melt. Cheddar or other cheeses can be substituted, but slice them thinly for proper melting.
03 - Bacon: Pre-cook bacon on stovetop, in oven, or microwave (approximately 2-2½ minutes for 3 slices).
04 - Eggs: This recipe uses scrambled eggs, though a fried egg could be attempted as a variation.
05 - Scaling: Recipe makes 1 sandwich but can be multiplied as needed.
