Add bacon to a Dutch oven or soup pot over medium heat. Cook thoroughly until crisp, then transfer to a paper towel to drain.

Add diced onion and pepper to the remaining bacon grease. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened, then add garlic and cook for another 30-60 seconds until fragrant.

Add turkey sausage to the pot, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook thoroughly until no pink remains.

Add chili seasoning, crushed tomatoes and beef broth to the pot. Chop or crumble the cooked bacon and add it back to the mixture. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 45-60 minutes until flavors meld and chili thickens to desired consistency.
