Blueberry Cream Cheese Frosting (Print Version)

Smooth frosting with blueberries and cream cheese for vibrant, fruity flavor and beautiful color.

# Ingredients:

→ Blueberry Reduction

01 - 1 cup fresh blueberries or frozen blueberries, thawed and drained
02 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

→ Frosting Base

03 - 1/2 cup salted butter, softened
04 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
05 - 3 to 4 cups powdered sugar
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Steps:

01 - Combine blueberries and granulated sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, mashing berries, for 8 to 10 minutes until mixture thickens to a jam-like consistency.
02 - Allow blueberry mixture to cool completely. For faster cooling, spread in a shallow bowl and place in the refrigerator.
03 - In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and light.
04 - Incorporate vanilla extract, then gradually beat in powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
05 - Add cooled blueberry reduction to the frosting and beat until fully combined and the frosting takes on a lavender hue.

# Notes:

01 - Ensure blueberry reduction is completely cool before adding to prevent frosting from becoming runny.
