Bird Dog Sandwiches (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup mayonnaise
02 - 2 tablespoons smokey barbecue sauce
03 - 2 tablespoons honey
04 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
05 - 1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
06 - 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice

→ For the Sandwiches

07 - 4 extra large breaded chicken tenders
08 - 4 thick-cut bacon slices, cooked until crisp
09 - 4 brioche hot dog buns
10 - Shredded romaine or iceberg lettuce
11 - Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
12 - Red onion, thinly sliced
13 - Dill pickles, thinly sliced

# Instructions:

01 - Combine mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, honey, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice in a small mixing bowl. Whisk until smooth. Cover and refrigerate while preparing other ingredients.
02 - Prepare chicken tenders according to package directions until golden and crisp. An air fryer works excellently for this purpose.
03 - Lightly toast the brioche hot dog buns for approximately 1 minute until just warmed through.
04 - Ensure bacon is cooked until crispy using your preferred method (oven, frying pan, or air fryer). Drain on paper towels to remove excess fat.
05 - Spread sauce generously on both interior sides of each bun. Layer with chicken tenders, bacon slices, shredded lettuce, sliced onion, tomato, and pickles.
06 - Add a final touch with freshly cracked black pepper and drizzle with additional sauce if desired before serving.

01 - Consider doubling the sauce recipe - it's delicious when drizzled over the top of the assembled sandwiches as well.
