Apple Pie Enchiladas Delight (Print Version)

Baked apple-stuffed tortillas with cinnamon and brown sugar sauce deliver a unique sweet dessert.

# Ingredients:

→ Filling

01 - 1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
02 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
03 - 6 (8 inch) flour tortillas

→ Sauce

04 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter
05 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
06 - 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
07 - 1/2 cup water
08 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

# Steps:

01 - Place roughly a heaping 1/4 cup of apple pie filling down the center of each flour tortilla. Dust with ground cinnamon. Roll up tightly, folding in the edges, and arrange seam side down in a greased baking dish.
02 - Combine butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously and bring mixture to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and blend in vanilla extract.
03 - Evenly pour the warm sauce over the arranged enchiladas in the baking dish. Allow them to stand for 45 minutes to let the tortillas absorb the liquid, enhancing their pastry-like texture.
04 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the soaked enchiladas for 30 minutes, or until the surface is golden and bubbling.
05 - Serve the apple pie enchiladas warm for the best flavor and texture.

# Notes:

01 - Resting the enchiladas in sauce prior to baking ensures the tortillas develop a tender, pastry-like consistency.
02 - Garnish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel for an elevated dessert experience.
