Warm apple brownies crowned with maple glaze. Spiced and soft for a cozy dessert experience.

# Ingredients:

→ Brownie Base

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
03 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
04 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
05 - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
06 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
07 - 1 cup packed brown sugar
08 - 2 large eggs
09 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
10 - 1 cup apples, peeled, cored, and chopped

→ Maple Glaze

11 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar
12 - 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
13 - 1–2 tablespoons whole milk, as needed

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8-inch baking pan, ensuring all corners are coated.
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until evenly mixed.
03 - In a separate large bowl, mix melted unsalted butter with packed brown sugar until smooth and fully combined.
04 - Add eggs and pure vanilla extract to the butter mixture, beating well until fully integrated and creamy.
05 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until no flour streaks remain. Do not overmix.
06 - Gently fold in chopped apples until evenly distributed in the batter.
07 - Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan, smoothing the surface. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
08 - Remove pan from oven and allow brownies to cool completely on a wire rack before glazing.
09 - In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, pure maple syrup, and enough milk to reach a smooth, pourable consistency.
10 - Drizzle glaze evenly over the cooled brownies. Once set, slice into portions and serve.

# Notes:

01 - Substitute walnuts or pecans for added texture. Ensure apples are firm for best results; Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well.
