Soft apple brownies topped with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a smooth maple glaze for sweet comfort.

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
03 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
04 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
05 - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

→ Wet Ingredients

06 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
07 - 1 cup packed brown sugar
08 - 2 large eggs
09 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
10 - 1 cup peeled, cored, and chopped apples

→ Maple Glaze

11 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar
12 - 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
13 - 1 to 2 tablespoons milk

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease and flour an 8×8-inch (20x20 cm) baking pan to prevent sticking.
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg until evenly blended.
03 - In a separate large bowl, mix the melted unsalted butter with brown sugar until fully combined and smooth.
04 - Add eggs and vanilla extract to the wet mixture and beat until thoroughly integrated.
05 - Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing just until no dry spots remain; do not overmix.
06 - Gently fold the chopped apples into the batter using a spatula until evenly distributed.
07 - Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center emerges clean.
08 - Allow the baked brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before glazing.
09 - In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, pure maple syrup, and enough milk to form a smooth, pourable glaze.
10 - Drizzle glaze evenly over cooled brownies. Once set, slice into squares and serve.

# Notes:

01 - For best texture, use crisp, tart apples such as Granny Smith and avoid overmixing the batter to maintain a tender crumb.
